When it comes to colorful mise en scène, it'd be hard to beat the Garden of Earthly Delights gala for the Museum of Arts and Design.

Guests such as Sofia Sanchez de Betak, Lily Kwong, Indre Rockefeller, Nell Diamond and Jen Brill came to an Upper East Side townhouse Thursday wearing, for the most part, patchwork-style gowns evoking both flora and fauna.

The evening, presented by the French accessories brand Roger Vivier and honoring the Egyptian artist Ghada Amer, was inspired by Hieronymus Bosch's iconic triptych, as well as the whimsical and fantastical illustrations of Cicely Mary Barker.

Tables were decorated with moss, deep red peonies as well as mushrooms, pomegranates and cherries. Each dinner place setting was set with a vial of absinthe.
