Last night in West Chelsea, the artists came alive. And it was all to celebrate Ballroom Marfa, the nonprofit whose mission is to fund visual arts with a cultural impact. Yesterday evening's honorees, Transparent creator Jill Soloway and the Talking Heads's David Byrne, were joined by a chic crew including Andrés and Lauren Santo Domingo, Alessandra and Jon Neidich, and Yvonne Force Villareal and Leo Villareal. Other guests got into the spirit through their dress: The theme of the evening, desert Bohemian, proved to be a tad more glamorous thanks to the evening's sponsor, Roberto Cavalli. Kate Young was fresh in florals, Edie Parker's Brett Heyman was also blossoming in a micro-bud motif with an athletic twist, but it was Becca Cason Thrash who stole the show in a mash-up of animal print, denim, and feathers. After a live auction presided by Sara Friedlander from Christie's raised more than $300,000, it was time for everyone to celebrate and enjoy the festivities.
