Acquavella Galleries, that East Seventy ninth Street bastion best known for exhibitions of modern masters, is perhaps not the first place one turns for a show of emerging, genre-bending artists. But that's precisely what's on view in "White Collar Crimes," an exhibition curated by the decidedly downtown 26-year-old art dealer Vito Schnabel. Reflecting on hidden meanings and motives and the shadows cast by social status, "White Collar Crimes" presents an intimate selection of some 25 new and recent works from the likes of Tauba Auerbach, the Bruce High Quality Foundation, Dan Colen, and Rashid Johnson. "They inspire me, excite my imagination, and make me feel high and thrilled," Schnabel says. "There's an undercurrent of surrealism in this show. In the unexpected juxtapositions and in the erotic charge of the illicit."
